   1. A Hyksos god worshipped in Egypt in the fifteenth and sixteenth dynasties, and identified with Set.
   2. Son of Iblis, a jinn, who suggests lies.
   The identification of this early, Semitic god with the powers of darkness may have occurred in the first place after the expulsion of the Hyksos, and in the second with the adherence to Islam.
